LITE-Africa’s approach is to work with local communities to develop market driven business development services that support growth, enhance effectiveness and create a multiplier effect for job creation and income generation. In a bid to boost livelihood conditions, LITE-Africa’s strategy focuses on strengthening livelihoods needs and building the capacity of community residents on entrepreneurship and business management to find community-based solutions to problems of unsustainable farming and fishing practices, and environmental degradation. We do this through a coordinated effort by working with various partners in the region-academic institutions, government agencies and other local organizations. We also use Citizen Report Cards as a tool to carry out research and assessments that are used to advise decision makers and inform policy on issues of public.
The following includes what we do under this thematic area:
- Business development programs
- Livelihood value chain programs
- Sustainable alternative livelihood
