Sustainable Livelihoods
LITE-Africa’s approach is to work with local communities to develop market driven business development services that support growth, enhance effectiveness and create a multiplier effect for job creation and income generation. In a bid to boost livelihood conditions, LITE-Africa’s strategy focuses on strengthening livelihoods needs and building the capacity of community residents on entrepreneurship and business management to find community-based solutions to problems of unsustainable farming and fishing practices, and environmental degradation. We do this through a coordinated effort by working with various partners in the region-academic institutions, government agencies and other local organizations. We also use Citizen Report Cards as a tool to carry out research and assessments that are used to advise decision makers and inform policy on issues of public.
